Maggie and the Ferocious Beast Maggie and the Ferocious Beast is a 00’s Children’s TV cartoon, which was based on the popular children's books created by Michael and Betty Paraskevas.     Story  A little girl named Maggie loves her two soft toys - The Ferocious Beast and Hamilton Hocks. She has a fantastic imagination and has even dreamt up a whole new place called 'Nowhere Land' where her toys have come to life and live. When Maggie was dreaming up Nowhere Land, she sat down with her crayons and drew a map of Nowhere Land. To her surprise the map sprung to life and Nowhere Land existed from nothing.   Nowhere Land is a strange place and is split up into little areas where unusual things live, such as The Oasis (a barren place), Sandcastle Beach, Highest Mountain etc.   Maggie and the Ferocious Beast Characters   Maggie    (voiced by Kristen Bone) Maggie is a small 5 Year old, ginger haired, girl who loves to visit her two best friends - The Ferocious Beast and Hamilton Hocks. She seems to visit them most days in Nowhere Land, so I wonder if her parents know where she goes? She keeps the map of Nowhere Land under her explorers hat, which is useful when she gets lost, plus she can add to it when she finds a new place. The hat also gives you a hint that she loves exploring and what better place to explore than Nowhere Land   Maggie is the voice of reason and is always trying to come up with alternate solutions to problems and to calm a situation (such as The Beast and Hamilton arguing). If there is something that the others are doing wrong, then she has a gentle soothing talk with them to put them back on the right track. She likes to say things like 'Green Tangerines' or 'Tumbling Teddy Bears' when faced with a dilemma.     The Ferocious Beast    (voiced by Stephen Ouimette) He is quite a large beast, but doesn't look that ferocious. When he puts his mind to it, he can come up with a scary roar. All his friends call him Beast. Being such a large beast can have its down sides, never give him anything delicate to do, otherwise it will end in trouble. Such as the time he wanted to try some painting, but he accidentally put some paint on Maggie's painting of the Beast. The more he tried to fix it, the worse it got and eventually he destroyed the painting, which is when he had to own up to Maggie.   Beast is not scared of much, but he is scarred of Mice. When he first met Rudy, he nearly jumped out of his skin and it took a while for the beast to get used to him. Also the beast was really intimidated by the large Duck. Each time it went Quack! he would run away. The beast is very spotty, but his spots come off. If they aren't in the exact place, then the beast can feel that something is wrong and he only feels better when Maggie or Hamilton help to move them. Once, the Jelly Bean Gang stole one of his spots and he was in a right panic!   Hi is very good at playing draughts / checkers and has to get Maggie to move the pieces for him. Also, he seems to say 'Googly Moogly' a lot.     Hamilton Hocks     (voiced by Michael Caruana)  Hamilton is a Pig that lives in a cardboard box. This isn't any ordinary cardboard box, as it seems to hold more things than it should. Maybe its a magic box, as it must be much bigger on the inside compared to outside (a bit like the 'Tardis' in Doctor Who). This is one pig that likes to keep himself looking good, no rolling around in mud for him. Most of the time you would see him wearing a pullover/jumper which has a large 'H' on it for Hamilton.   He has an emotional attachment to this jumper (more like a comfort blanket) and he once lent it to Nedley. He regretted it immediately and started getting withdrawal symptoms . Hamilton is a fantastic cook and loves to bake cakes for Maggie and the Beast. Once he found an extremely large hat and he assumed that the Big Friendly Giant had thrown it away, so he went about turning it into a restaurant. He cut holes in it for a door and windows. The restaurant was proving to be successful, that was until the Big Friendly Giant found his hat and took it back, who was surprised it had holes in it.   Once he had a pet fish. In fact, the fish took a liking to Hamilton, so he thought it would be nice to put him in a fishbowl and push him around in a push chair. The fish was fine, initially, and it took a while for Hamilton to listen to his friends who kept saying that the fish was unhappy. Luckily he listened to reason and put the fish back in the river. The fish couldn't be angry at Hamilton as he did mean well. His favourite thing to do is spring cleaning and when he is happy, he goes 'Hoo Wee'.     Nedley     (voiced by Adrian Truss) He is a rabbit that always speaks in rhymes. When the others first met him, he was trying to pull an enormous carrot out of the ground. He was very defensive and didn't want anyone to help him or get near to his precious carrot. Eventually he became exhausted and the others helped. When they got it out of the ground, Nedley was jumping for joy, but this soon came to an end when he tasted it. Yuk! it was the most disgusting tasting carrot in the world. Eventually they thought up a use for it, as a home for the birds in nowhere land (they hollowed out some of it).   Nedley once really upset Hamilton when he borrowed his famous 'H' jumper, then wouldn't give it back. You see the jumper is very comfortable and soft, but Maggie had to point out to Nedley that he would lose a friend if he didn't give it back.     Rudy / Pippi Rudy is a small Spanish mouse, or is that a small Spanish toy mouse? When he first met the beast, he was scarred stiff of him, but eventually they became friends. Poor Rudy would love to take off his hat and boots, but they don't come off, which is why we think he is a toy mouse. He was probably made like this and they are stuck on. It makes him sad thinking about this and it doesn't help when the Beast keeps reminding him of this fact ("Its not right that his hat and boots don't come off")     The Dream Sheep They are sheep that float in the air. Most of the time they look like clouds in the sky.     The Big Duck Her name gives is away, she is a very big duck. So big that she makes the Beast look really tiny. She only can say 'Quack' but she seems to be able to be understood by others. She really likes to give the other inhabitants of Nowhere land a ride on her back across the river. She was quite confused when the Beast kept running off and hiding from her when they first met. Luckily Maggie defused the situation and the Beast is no longer scared of her (ish).     The Jelly Bean Team One day Maggie brought some Jelly Beans into Nowhere land and as usual something magic happened, her Jelly Beans came alive. Beast was all up for eating them, but Maggie insisted that they should be left alone to live on Nowhere Land in peace. The Jelly Beans are all different colours and they are always arguing and getting into trouble.     Mr Shivers Mr Shivers is a Snowman. He was created when Maggie shook her Snow Globe and it began to snow. Beast shook it and immediately Nowhere Land was covered in a thick layer of snow. Hamilton, Maggie and Beast decided that they should build a Snowman, but little did they know that it would come alive and be Mr Shivers. Mr Shivers has a posh accent, plus wears a Top Hat. He likes to put Mr or Miss in front of everyone's names when he is addressing them (Beast thinks that he sounds funny).   Because he is out in the cold all the time, he has a permanent cold and when he sneezes, his carrot nose shoots off (I bet he gets annoyed at this). He was quite alarmed when he found out that he was melting and so Maggie suggested that he should live at 'Highest Mountain' in Nowhere Land, as its very cold and it snows there.
